Fall Leaf Collection Program Ends Next Week
The Village’s Fall Leaf Collection Program will conclude next week. As crews make their final rounds, please remember leaf piles must only contain leaves, not yard waste. For more information and to track leaf collection crews, visit our website.
If you missed the Village’s final collection in your neighborhood, Lakeshore Recycling Systems (LRS) will have a final yard waste collection day on Wednesday, December 15. Yard waste stickers are still available for purchase at Village Hall.
For composting waste year-round, the Village has a composting station available for residents at 320 Temple Court behind the Public Works Garage. To view a list of accepted materials, visit here.

Home Safety Reminders
The Public Safety Department reminds the community to be alert and that burglary activity is occurring in nearby communities. Burglars may target unoccupied homes after nightfall and may be present in the area earlier to watch for residents leaving their homes. Burglars often ring the doorbell to determine if someone is home before walking around the home in search of unlocked doors and windows, or attempting to force entry into the home. Residents should always lock their homes, even if away for just a few minutes. To report suspicious activity or for Public Safety assistance, dial 911.
If you're planning on leaving home for an extended period of time during the winter months, you can request that the Glencoe Public Safety Department keeps an eye on your home while you're away. Request your house watch by calling Public Safety’s non-emergency number at (847) 835-4112.

Sustainable Holiday Season
Have a sustainable holiday this year by making your own wrapping paper! Traditional store-bought wrapping paper is usually not recyclable. Instead, wrap your presents with newspaper comics, children’s artwork or a cloth item that can also be considered a gift - such as a scarf, handkerchief or reusable bag.
