Sunday School Resumes

We are pleased that Sunday School is due to resume for our children on Advent Sunday.

It will take place in the room below the Sacristy during the Mass, and children will be participating in activities based on the readings and themes of the day.

About once every half term we will ask our children and young people to take a fuller part in the Mass, when they will read the readings and the intercessions, and take a lead in welcoming people to church that day. The first of these will be Sunday 19 December.

Thank you to Susan, Collet and Ruth for agreeing to take a lead on this important ministry.

If you would like your child to attend please speak to Ruth Cansdale, who will give you a registration form to complete.

Prayers from Walsingham

Last weekend, Fr Philip was in Walsingham leading the Shrine's pilgrimage for young adults, Adoremus.

We had a group of 29 pilgrims who'd travelled from around the country and many of whom were first-time pilgrims to the Shrine. It was a wonderful weekend.

Prayers were offered for the Parish in the Holy House, and Keith and his team at the Shrine are looking forward to welcoming us on our Parish pilgrimage in October 2022.

Adoremus is a pilgrimage for young adults (18-25) which meets on the weekend of Christ the King. If you'd be interested to come in 2022 please have a word with Fr Philip.

Sunday 28 November:
Advent Sunday Evening

On Sunday evening we have been invited by Fr Philip Barnes, Parish Priest of St Stephen's, Gloucester Road, to join him and his people for Advent Carols and Benediction at 6.00pm.

The Bishop of Fulham will give Benediction, and we are invited to stay for refreshments following the service.

It is an easy journey from Lavender Hill to St Stephen's on the 345 bus: bus from Tipthorpe Road to the Natural History Museum followed by a short walk to the church.

If you want to travel with us, we will meet outside the church on Sunday at 5pm sharp and take the bus together.

Saturday 4 December:
Christmas Fair

We're looking forward to the Christmas Fair next Saturday, between 10am and 2pm.

Raffle & Tombola prizes, and special stalls. Bonus Ball Competition (top prize £25): contact Jim Warwick.

Any assistance with set-up on Friday 3 December will be appreciated. Please be in touch with Ann Warwick.

Zoom Advent Course

St Alban's, South Norwood (a Fulham Parish in the Croydon Episcopal Area) has put together an Advent Course to take place on Zoom.

Each session will be on a Tuesday evening at 7pm, and will last one hour.

The Course is open to any members of Fulham Parishes in the Diocese. If you would like to join, please contact Fr Philip for access details.

Confirmation 2022

We are delighted that Bishop Jonathan will be with us to celebrate the Parish Mass and to administer the Sacrament of Confirmation on Sunday 20 February 2022.

If you or someone in your family would like to be confirmed please contact Fr Philip as soon as possible.

Preparation will begin in December.

Renewal of Lamps

A final notice about renewal of lamps. Please see Dean Warwick if you would like to sponsor a lamp - there are still some available.

Coffee on Tuesdays

From Tuesday 23 November we will have a coffee morning each week following on from the 10.00am Mass.

Do join us. It will begin once Mass has concluded, and run until about midday.

Walsingham Cell

The next meeting of the Cell will be on Wednesday 8 December at 7.30pm.

That day we celebrate the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, and the Mass will be followed by a glass of sparkling wine.

Afterwards there will be a short Annual Meeting of the cell to approve the accounts and to set dates for the forthcoming year.

Pastoral Care

If at any time you (or someone in your family) are ill, would like a visit at home or in hospital with Holy Communion or require a priest in an emergency please do not hesitate to be in touch with me.

Please, if at all possible, try not to rely solely on others to be in touch or to pass the message on -  sometimes the message is not passed on or is received too late. I would prefer to know twice than not at all!

Also, if you would like your name (or the name of another, with their permission) to be included in our public prayers for the sick please let me know.
