Thank you to all of the students, parents, and family members who came out to watch the show.
Both our 7th and 8th grade Drama classes will be performing over the next two weeks (more details below).

Healthy Kids Coloardo Survey

The Healthy Kids Colorado Survey is administered every other year and is used to assess the culture of our school as well as specific student behaviors. The survey asks questions related to health, safety, bullying, social and emotional well being, alcohol, tobacco, and drug use as well as the affect of the COVID-19 pandemic. Please note that there are no questions related to sexual behavior on the middle school survey. There are links below for you to review all of the questions that will be included on the survey as well as an opt out form should you choose to complete it. This survey provides our school with valuable information to use in planning school-wide improvement initiatives. It can also help us apply for various grant and funding opportunities.

This survey will be administered be the week of 11/29 or 12/6.

Vaccine Approved For All Children 5 and Up
The COVID-19 vaccine is now approved for all children 5 and older. The Delta County School District strongly encourages all students and staff members to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
The Delta County Health Department is now offering a pediatric vaccine clinic every Tuesday and Thursday at their office located at 255 W 6th Street in Delta. You can contact the Health Department at 970-874-2165.
We highly encourage all parents to discuss the vaccine with their doctor or health care provider.

Symptomatic Students Are Required To Stay Home
If your student is showing any symptoms of COVID-19 he/she is required to stay home. This is a very important component of decreasing the potential spread of the virus within our school.
Counselor's Corner
Counseling Website
Stay up to date on all things related to the DMS Counseling Department by visiting the DMS Counseling website.
This site includes a student self-referral form. If your student is struggling with academic or social and emotional stress, conflicts with peers, or other academic or mental health related issues, please encourage them to complete this form and one of the members of our Counseling team will follow up with them.
Youth Mental Health Support

IMatter is a program that connects youth to free mental health resources and support (more details below).
https://imattercolorado.org/

May be an image of one or more people and text that says 'Every Colorado youth is now eligible for three free therapy sessions. Visit IMatterColorado.org to learn more. I Matter.'
IMatter is a program that connects youth to free mental health resources and support. Anyone between the ages of 12 and 18 can go to the IMatter state website to take a short survey to assess their needs. If the results show they need help, the site will connect them to a provider for a 45-minute appointment in the next two weeks. One of the early questions asks if the young person is in crisis and directs those who answer yes to a crisis line and a more rapid response.

Note: Children under 12 can also use the service but need a parent to do so, and young adults who are receiving special education services can access the free help up to age 21.

Parents who feel their child is struggling and needs help, can go to the same website to fill out a survey in regards to their child. Please remember, seeking support for your child is not a sign of failure—it’s a sign of strength.

The DMS Counseling Team sees this as a great resource for students. It is not meant to replace the support our Counseling Department provides, but rather provide another resource for students to use should the need arise.
