Don’t wait until an outbreak to get vaccinated.

The borders are now open to vaccinated travellers and it’s up to each of us to make the right decisions to protect ourselves, our families and communities from COVID-19.

Getting vaccinated continues to be our best defence against COVID-19. We saw that this was true during the NSW outbreak earlier this year. Cases reached 1200 per day and 97.5% of people who caught COVID-19 were unvaccinated.

Now, most of NSW is 80+% vaccinated and COVID-19 cases have come down, and have been under 300 per day for over a month. People’s lives are returning to normal. Let’s get South Australia back to normal.

Did you know:
If you are fully vaccinated with 2 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine*, you can still catch COVID-19, but you are:
  • nearly 80% less likely to get really sick from COVID-19 or go to hospital
  • 65% less likely to pass on COVID-19 to people in the same house
  • 93% less likely to spread COVID-19 into your community.
Get vaccinated now

*Based on 2 doses of Pfizer (Comirnaty) vaccine, the main vaccine administered to Aboriginal people in South Australia.

COVID-19 border update

South Australian borders are open to vaccinated people and new processes are in place to protect South Australians.

If you are vaccinated, you can enter SA but you must follow entry conditions based on your risk level. If you are not vaccinated, you will need to apply for an exemption to enter SA.

To enter SA, you must now apply through EntryCheck SA (including returning South Australian residents). Depending on your EntryCheck SA assessment you may need to use HealthCheck SA to guide you through your testing and quarantine requirements.

You can also upload your COVID-19 digital certificate to the mySA Gov app to show your vaccination status when required. See more about adding proof of COVID-19 vaccination to mySA GOV
