Breakthrough Victoria Fund

The Breakthrough Victoria Fund is open for business. If you are commercialising research and  innovation, then check out the investment programs under this $2 billion,10 year program. Find out more about their investment streams and apply for funding here.
NSSN Grand Challenge Fund
The NSW Smart Sensing Network (NSSN) is calling on research, industry and government stakeholders to form collaborative proposals and apply for funding under round two of the NSSN Grand Challenges FundApplications close 21 February 2022.

Clinical Entrepreneur Program

Organisations are invited to submit programs to deliver a pilot Clinical Entrepreneur Program in Australia, which will provide bespoke training to clinicians to develop their innovative ideas into products and enterprises/businesses that benefit patients. Applications close 31 Jan 2022.
AMR Commercialisation 101
CSIRO & Cicada Innovations have launched AMR Commercialisation 101, a free online training course to help researchers, SMEs and innovators to commercialise their work into solutions to tackle antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Find out more about the course here.

D.Start Ignite

D.Start Ignite is an innovation and entrepreneurship program that empowers Australian academics, start-ups, and SMEs to connect with Defence, identify a real-world application for their science or technology and attract the resources they need to translate it to capability. Applications close 21 January 2022.
NSW R&D Fund
The R&D Fund supports SMEs and scaleups to commercialise products that address the health, social or economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Funding will be in the range of $250,000 to $1 million and targets products within the TRL level 4-9 to help them move along the TRL scale. Applications open soon.

Human integrated sensor systems challenge

In collaboration with DMTC, Defence is seeking collaborative proposals from industry and academia to develop a Human Integrated Sensor System which can measure and interpret indicators of biological pathogen exposure from the human body before the individual gets sick. Applications close 17 December 2021.
GrowLab Grains Challenge
Grains Research & Development Corporation and Cicada Innovations are looking for innovative deep tech solutions that can help to drive the sustainability & help create enduring profitability for Australian grain growers. The challenge is open to growers, entrepreneurs or researchers working in agtech or other adjacent industries with a solution that might be applicable to the grain industry. Applications close 17 December 2021.

Soil Carbon Innovation Challenge 

Are you an innovator in soil carbon? Apply now open for the National Soil Carbon Innovation Challenge which provides funding for feasibility studies of lower-cost, accurate technical solutions to measuring soil organic carbon. Successful applicants will deliver a feasibility study that shows technical viability and commercial potential of their proposed solution. Applications close 10 December 2021.
CUREator - Australia's national biotech incubator
CUREator, backed by the Australian Government’s Medical Research Future Fund aims to support early-stage health and medical research and innovation in Australia through to proof-of-concept and beyond, providing opportunities for commercialisation. EOI for Round One close 6 December 2021.
