Dear First Free Church Family,

It's Advent! From the Latin, Adventus, meaning "coming," Advent is the four-week season of prayerful preparation leading up to our celebration of Christ's birth over 2,000 years ago in Bethlehem.

This Sunday, Pastor Kirk will begin our new Advent series, "Worthy: A Savior Worth Celebrating!" With special music, readings, and more, don't miss the official start of the Christmas season at First Free Church!

We can't wait to see you this Sunday! Come worship and bring a friend!

Happening Now

Church Officer Nominations

Starting this Sunday, November 21, we will open our church officer nomination process to our members. Information about open positions and the nomination forms & box will be available in the lobby until December 24.

Members should have received an email with the open positions.

Senior Achievers

Anyone 50+ is invited to sign up for the next Senior Achievers Meeting on Tuesday, December 14, 2021. Fellowship starts at 11:00 a.m. & lunch begins at 11:30 a.m.

Cost is $15 and sign ups begin on Sunday, November 28 in the lobby.

Next Generation Prayer Time

Join us in the Adult Learning Center after worship on Sunday, December 5 to pray for the next generation in our congregation and communities in the Adult Learning Center.

Cookies

We need people to bake Christmas Cookies for our upcoming Christmas Fest and more! If you have time, please bring some cookies to drop off in the church lobby.

Parking

A reminder for those in our First Free Family: in addition to the main parking lot, there is parking available in the upper lot behind the church and in the Penn State lower lot. If you are able to, we ask you to leave the main lot open for those unable to walk longer distances and newcomers & visitors.

Women of First Free, please join us for a time of fellowship at our Women’s Christmas Tea on Sunday, December 5 from 2-4.

Register online today or in the lobby Sunday after service.

Christmas Fest

Join us this year for our newly named ChristmasFest celebration on December 10 & 11. Christmas Fest features our Live Nativity, Live Animals, Kidzone Carnival and more!

Parents! Download and print this coloring page for your child to color. Bring the completed coloring page to our Christmas Fest event to receive a special gift (while supplies last).

Blue Christmas Gathering

It's easy for us to forget that in our own church family and community there are those for whom the idea of Christmas joy is not part of the season this year. We want to minister to those among us who are struggling to enter into the joy of the Christmas season.

That is why on Sunday, December 19th from 3-4 p.m., First Free will be presenting a Blue Christmas gathering, paying attention to the special needs of people who are "blue" or in pain at this time. This gathering will be a blend of elements that recognize Christmas and the fact that Jesus came to offer hope, as well as the fact that people are in pain. The Blue Christmas gathering will be a quiet time of reflection and remembrance using various Scripture passages and gentle music. It is our desire to offer support and healing to a hurting, broken world, all the while pointing to the hope that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Following the gathering, there will be a café with light refreshments.

Christmas Eve Service

This year we will have ONE Christmas Eve Service at 5 p.m. Childcare for ages 0-4 will be provided. Hope to see you there!
