The South Gippsland Conservation Society wishes to acknowledge that the Bunurong and Boon Warring peoples of the Kulin nation are the traditional owners of this land, over which they have never ceded sovereignty, and we pay our respects to their Elders, past and present and emerging.

Project Updates

The Inverloch Coastal Resilience Project received great coverage in the 16 November 2021 edition of the Sentinel Times, with strong support from the Surf Club, Bass Coast Shire Council and the Sentinel Times editorial team.

The articles referred to the Surf Beach Coastline Recession Analysis recently completed by the ICRP team. You can view this analysis and find links to the articles HERE.

As foreshadowed in a previous Newsletter, the ‘Rally Round Our Dunes!’ event will take place on 12 January 2022, from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

Please mark it in your diaries. A strong attendance will demonstrate to the Victorian Government and its agencies how much the Inverloch community and its visitors value the surf beach. The urgent need for short-term beach protection via replenishment of the remaining dunes will also be highlighted at the event.

A refreshed ICRP exhibition at the Bunurong Environment Centre will be open for viewing in early December. All welcome, and when you visit, please complete our petition for urgent short-term surf beach protection.

Coast to Coast Resilience Project

The Cape to Cape Resilience Project team recently advised that a Project Update will be issued shortly, as well as their Community Values Study report.

A date for the next Stakeholder Reference Group Workshop has not been announced.
