Seasons Greetings from Your AGO Chapter

From Our Dean

Greetings fellow musicians and friends,

Thank you for a wonderful opening event on December 6 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Thank you to all those who attended, to those who participated in the service, to those who helped with the cocktail hour,  and to Rebecca McClain for hosting.

As we head into the last week before Christmas, I pray you find some time to sneak a nap, enjoy a beverage of your choosing, and to spend time with those you love. We are all so busy this season and it’s hard to find time to take care of ourselves as you know.

We are blessed to be able to share our love of music with our congregations. May you be inspired and energized to create beautiful music and mountain top moments as you celebrate this holy season.

Our next gathering will be a Dean’s lunch on Friday, January 21. The location will be announced later but please save the date and plan on joining us.

Grace and peace to you,

Susan Wilson

From Our Chaplain

A PRAYER FOR OUR WORLD

God of Mercy, God of Grace,
God of earth and outer space,
How can we begin to see
Into your eternity?

Moons and stars and planets vast
Tell us something of the past,
But we’d like to look instead
At the world that lies ahead.

We can never understand
All the things that you have planned,
But if only we could see
What the future world will be.

Will the earth you made survive?
Will your creatures be alive?
Will our children be okay?
Will our whole world pass away?

Like Old Ebenezer Scrooge,
Can we learn a lesson huge?
Our worst fears might not take place;
Mercy still abounds, and grace!

So let’s try to change our ways,
Make the most of all our days.
If we strive with all we’re worth
Maybe we can save the earth!

God of Mercy, God of Grace,
God of all the human race,
Even though we often fail,
May we see your will prevail.
