Parish council opposes barbers' alcohol application
North Weald Bassett Parish Council is opposing a licence application by the Turkish barbers at 38 High Road, North Weald, to allow it to sell alcohol.
The barbers has applied to Epping Forest District Council for a Premises Licence for alcohol sales on and off the premises between noon and 7pm Monday to Sunday.
Councillor Andy Tyler told Monday's parish council planning committee: "I don't think we need any more places in North Weald selling alcohol."
Council chairman Alan Buckley said the council should object to the application "in the strongest possible terms" adding: "A definite 'no'."
