Hey there, Salt Church!

When talking with unbelieving friends about Jesus, they’re often surprised that Christianity isn’t simply “blind faith” but a response to the facts/truth/evidence of the Gospel of Jesus, as revealed in the Bible. This is different to most religions. 99.9% of the world’s religions are based on someone’s personal vision, dream or insight which is very subjective and can’t be verified by anyone else. They require blind faith.

But Christianity is different - it’s based on the historical, personal work of Jesus - primarily his death and resurrection, which are all public events which can be tested and verified. There’s hundred of details through out the New Testament that line up with external sources. An article I read in the ABC last week claims that
no professional ancient historian has publicly denied the existence of Jesus of Nazareth. This shouldn't be surprising!

So, when we doubt the truth of the Gospel, it’s helpful to go back to and examine the evidence from the Bible. After all, how we respond to Jesus really matters. As Paul says in Acts 17:30: “In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.” Considering the evidence, it's a very reasonable thing to be a Christian.

Our Covid Safe Plan + Recent Changes
  • We’ve come up with a Covid safe plan that will best look after our community here at Salt, you can access it here.

  • Remember to bring your mask along to church and wear it while inside 275. We're still able to sing - we just have to keep our masks on while we do so. And as usual, we'll have spare masks at the door if you don't have one.

  • Due to recent changes in legislation, when you next visit Salt Church you’ll have to use the Services NSW app to check yourself in (and any kids with you) at the door. We’ll also have someone with a laptop checking people off for our own records.

  • We’re going to continue our 10am Sunday livestream for the next few months. If you’re feeling unwell or are a close Covid contact, please stay home and watch the livestream at 10am or the replay afterwards.
