2021 is wrapping up, and although the year came and went fast, we could not have gotten through it without our fellow DemoChicks! We are thankful for every one of you, from donations to reading the monthly newsletters. Because of you, we can conduct services and programs to help women feel empowered and enlightened in their non-traditional careers. This newsletter shows the highlights that DemoChicks has accomplished this past year.

DemoChicks Online concluded its first program year in June 2021. We received a total of 160 individuals who attended the 10-month workshop sessions. The speakers that conducted the activities and lessons were outstanding and insightful; the students learned new career paths and possibilities for their future.

|
DemoChicks awarded 6 scholarships this summer. Students from California State Long Beach, Long Beach Community College, UCLA, Hobart and William Smith College, and Texas State University were awarded $1,000 to help them with their student expenses.

August 28, 2021, DemoChicks had a successful annual fundraiser at the Hotel Maya in Long Beach. We honored 5 individuals, 1 organization, and gave out 6 scholarships at the event. It was a time of getting together safely and giving the attendees an insight into our mission and programs.

Summer 2021 DemoChicks partnered with Long Beach Unified School District and brought Crystal Yang as our intern. She helped with the fundraising event, social media, and research.
