While 2021 was an extremely challenging year, we are incredibly excited about the next steps for OurBrainBank. We want to revolutionize:

• The power that patients have to engage in their care
• The tools that providers have to improve health and quality of life outcomes.

After closing our pilot GBM study in 2021, 2022 will bring a new, even more ambitious approach to integrating symptom and quality of life data into the collaborative decision making of people living with GBM, their caregivers, and providers. 

We're working with researchers at a top university to design our new app that collects quality of life data with minimal burden on the patient and caregiver – giving a real-time opportunity to address problematic symptoms and assess tumor recurrence.

OurBrainBank CEO Kip Beardsley attended the annual Society for Neuro-Oncology conference where he spread the word about our work, met with funders, and attended sessions that explored topics such as how the data from OBB’s new app will be useful for to support the research on GBM in externally augmented clinical trials. It was heartening to see so many people gathered with the goal of advancing the fight against GBM.

Three years ago, the organizers of the inaugural GBM Drug Development Summit reached out to our founder Jessica Morris. When she learned no GBM patients were on the program, she asked why the bloody hell not? Thus she was invited to be the opening speaker and made a huge impression on the doctors, researchers, and executives there. In January, Kip will speak and share how OBB is continuing to assure the voice and experience of the patient are integrated into clinical trials and treatment decisions.
