Luckily, there are still some things we can share for certain. ❓ Why the vote? Long story short, in August of 2020 a District 3 resident filed a recall complaint against Sawant, claiming that she misused both her office resources and her position as a councilmember. The Washington State Supreme Court ruled that the recall could move forward with three key complaints, and the matter was put on the ballot and left to the 75,000 voters of District 3 to decide. In other news... ❓ What does it mean now that the Omicron variant is in Washington? As researchers rush to investigate more about the variant, Seattle Met has answered some of your questions about what that means for those of us who live here. Good news: Pfizer announced yesterday that getting your booster shot (along with the two initial doses) appears to be strong protection against omicron. If soaking up some blues tunes sounds good to you, check out the “Big Blues Mix Up” concert happening this weekend, hosted by local anti-racist music and cultural organization The Rhapsody Project. The Project pairs BIPOC youth with opportunities that expand their skills as musicians and help them explore their personal and cultural heritage. Proceeds from the show will go towards the Blues in the Schools project, which focuses on education around music and culture for local students. The concert will feature local blues, jazz, and soul artists including Lady A and Polly O'Keary and the Rhythm Method. The concert is set for Dec. 12 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cafe Con Leche in Fremont.
