PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Dear AFP Chapter Members and Guests,

Last Thursday, we had our very last event of the year with our 2022 Board Installation and an opportunity to hear from Scott Fortnum, ACFRE, who was our guest speaker that presented on “The Context of Ethics and Values in Fundraising.” Thank you Scott for taking the opportunity to speak to our chapter!

As your outgoing President for the AFP – Greater San Fernando Valley Chapter, I would like to thank you for your support over these past two years as we overcame many challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. During the past year and a half, we gained many new members from various nonprofit organizations. While some AFP chapters were hurt severely by losing members, we were able to overcome these challenges and are holding strong with a solid 52 members! As a collective board, our goal was to increase our memberships and we did just that. Together, we worked tirelessly to ensure we had excellent educational programs to offer our members and everyone did their part in recruiting new members for our chapter. I know that with the great momentum we’ve created, the chapter will continue to flourish under the leadership of Nancy Ackerman, CFRE, who has been my equal partner in helping to take our chapter to the next level of excellence.

With that, I would like to congratulate our 2022 Board of Directors from last week's installation and I know each board member will work hard to keep the energy flowing within the chapter. Even though I will no longer be the President of our chapter, I am planning on leading the Membership Committee in order to recruit new prospective members for our chapter.

In closing, please mark your calendars in 2022 as we host our first event of the year with CFRE Informational Seminars featuring Linda Lysakowski ACFRE, on Friday, January 21st and Saturday, January 22nd. Please see below for more information.

Wishing you all a very happy, healthy, and safe new year ahead and I am looking forward to seeing you all in 2022 at our AFP events!

Warmest Regards,

Adam S. Pilder, CFRE, CAP
