Greetings in Christ,
Friends,
I hope to see you this Sunday in worship and at our annual congregational meeting. David Allen, chair of Commitment & Witness will present the budget for 2022, including a recommendation from the session for changes to my terms of call. We will also elect elders for the class of 2024. The nominating committee has nominated Jeannie Hampton, Don Cookman, Michael Coleman, and Scott Staley. Nominations may also be made from the floor.
You can read the worship bulletin here, and you can find a list of dedications for poinsettias and wreathes in and around the church here. Please note that we will not have worship at St. Luke's or the Town Church on December 19, and instead encourage everyone to head to Romney First United Methodist Church at 10 am for the Combined Choir Christmas Cantata.
We will be back in the Town Church for a Christmas Eve service at 7 pm on Friday, December 24 and again at 11 am on Sunday, December 26 for an informal Sunday service. We invite everyone to come comfortably dressed on the 26, even in your pajamas if that is comfortable for you.
Looking ahead into the new year, John Dan will preach for us again on January 2. We will begin a confirmation/new member class during Sunday School at the Town Church on January 9. This class will meet for six sessions on the Sundays St. Luke's does not--so January 9, 23, & 30, February 13 & 27, and March 13. Please let me know if you are interested in joining the class.
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Rob
