AccessMedicine Auscultation Classroom

Auscultation Classroom is a Multimedia Resource which provides the ability to hear an abnormal heart sound while simultaneously watching a graphic of the intracardiac abnormality. It includes 27 modules which present the basics regarding clinical findings associated with murmurs and is organized alphabetically.

To view the modules, go to the homepage of AccessMedicine, via the Medical Library then click on “Auscultation Classroom” on the “Multimedia” dropdown. For questions regarding this and other learning tools, please contact a medical librarian.

Harrison's Pathophysiology Animations


The Harrison's Pathophysiology Video Animations are designed for better understanding of the "must know" pathophysiology of core disease topics in medical education.

Each video animation is a quick review of a case example whether you are working alone or in a small group setting or for test prep before an exam. The videos cover a number of key points in disease mechanisms in a short period of time from 2 to 7 minutes.

AccessMedicine App

The AccessMedicine app includes:

To activate and for continued access to the app, you must have an active My Access account and sign in every 90 days through your institution, either on-site or through a VPN.
Ovid Advanced Feature: Analyzer

Ovid Analyzer helps identifying terms to create, narrow, or broaden a search strategy. The Analyze Button appears on the advanced search results page when searching Ovid MEDLINE.

Clicking on "Analyzer" will launch a popup that allows you to easily see frequently occurring MeSH terms and author keywords that appear in your search results, so that you no longer need to manually skim through your results to identify these terms. 

Key Functionality Includes:
  • List of MeSH terms and the frequencies at which those terms appear in the result set that is being analyzed. 
  • List of author keywords and the frequencies at which those terms appear in the result set that is being. analyzed.
  • Ability to select MeSH and author keywords to add to your search.

WHO COVID-19 Global Literature Database

WHO Library in Geneva has been collaborating with our partners in Global Health to provide access to the health literature related to the COVID-19 pandemic in a single database to facilitate and accelerate access to the research literature for the COVID-19 response.

One simple search on COVID-19 draws near 330,000 citations from many resources.
