The Joy of Coaching
Do you have a coach or two in your life? Do you coach anyone?
Recently two coaches helped me be so much better than I could have been on my own.
The first, coach Steve, challenged me to put little anecdotes and stories of my childhood into the manuscript of my business book. I never would have thought to do that myself as I thought they’d be too personal for business. I listened though, had to rewrite the manuscript, but must tell you, the final product is probably three hundred percent better than the original.
The second coach, her name is Renee, challenged me to use three, and only three, main points to write my personal introductory business speech. It was tough, but it forced me to distill it to its essence and the final product is so much stronger. (It will be ready soon on YouTube, so you’ll be able to give me feedback!)
You don’t have to be highly educated to be a good coach. You just need to care about the person and give an outside perspective.
I want to encourage you to get coaching whenever you can, or, better still, start offering to coach others. The joy will become yours, let me tell you!
I hope you found this helpful. More of the same can be found on nicohuman.com or by following me on LinkedIn, Facebook or YouTube.
