Stakeholder Spotlight on Matthew Meyer of DD DANNAR, LLC

ECC's Stakeholder Spotlight series features our clean transportation stakeholders, showcasing their roles in clean energy advocacy, acceleration and adoption.

Meet Matt Meyer, Sales and Business Development at DD DANNAR, LLC!

DANNAR manufactures high-performance off-road construction and maintenance machinery based on their DANNAR 4.00 base configuration. Built on a heavy-duty steel ladder frame, the 4.00 comes standard with 125 kWh Li-Ion batteries from the BMW i3 and can be easily upgraded to a total of 504 kWh of on-board electricity. The DANNAR 4.00 can be ordered with or without an operator cab or platform, and semi- and fully-autonomous configuration also available.

How does Matt think the region's transportation landscape will change in the next decade—and what role does he think DANNAR will play in that transformation?

"The EV momentum will continue both on-road and off. Infrastructure development will respond with significant investment. DANNAR will bring innovative work vehicle solutions and provide clean, mobile, exportable power to New York’s Public Works, Port, Emergency Response, Fleet Charging, and Utility spaces in the decade ahead."

Thanks Matt! Be sure to check out DANNAR's innovative line of electrified equipment on their website and follow them on LinkedIn!

Biden-Harris Administration Releases Strategy for
U.S. Electric Vehicle Charging Network

In support of its goal of ensuring 50% of new car sales in the U.S. are fully electric vehicles, the Biden-Harris Administration has released an EV Charging Action Plan. The Plan outlines the steps federal agencies are taking to support developing and deploying chargers across the country. The Departments of Energy Transportation (DOE and DOT) will establish a Joint Office of Energy and Transportation focused on deploying EV infrastructure.

To learn more, watch Vice President Kamala Harris's announcement of the Plan and read the White House's EV Charging Plan Fact Sheet. Also, be sure to submit a public comment on the EV Charging Program on through the Federal Register!
Empire Clean Cities Joins Nationwide Coalitions to Participate in Two Key Workplace Charging Projects
Empire Clean Cities is thrilled to be joining two teams focused on workplace charging infrastructure funded by U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Vehicle Technologies Office under the FY’21 “Low Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Vehicle Technologies Research, Development, Demonstration and Deployment” funding opportunity.

EMPOWER (Equitable Mobility Powering Opportunities for Workplace Electrification Readiness), led by Columbia-Williamette Clean Cities Coalition, aims to reach upwards of 2,000 employers and secure at least 650 employer commitments to install and support workplace charging programming, and 3,500 installed EVSE/units at employer sites. With an environmental justice focus, another goal of EMPOWER secure at least 20% of employer commitments from diverse employers in qualified opportunities zones that benefit underserved communities and people of color.

Charge-to-Work USA, helmed by CALSTART, builds on the success of the first-of-its-kind "Charge-to-Work NY" initiative in 2017. With renewed focus and funding, Charge-to-Work USA now aims to engage businesses across the country to encourage employees to replace their conventional gasoline vehicles with clean and highly-efficient EVs.

Adequate workplace charging is a key to accelerating EV adoption. We look forward to working with both teams to develop tools for expanding charger accessibility for commuters. Mayor de Blasio Releases Vision for Sustainable Freight Network
Last Wednesday, Mayor Bill de Blasio, New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT), and the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) released a new freight vision plan called Delivering Green: A vision for a sustainable freight network serving New York City

The plan is a progressive vision to restructure freight distribution and reduce overreliance on diesel trucks to decrease greenhouse gas and pollutant emissions to benefit all New Yorkers. Mayor de Blasio also announced $38 million in new funding for freight programs to help execute the vision. That funding includes $18 million for the new Blue Highways pilot program, a joint effort between NYCDOT and NYCEDC to spur private investments in marine vessels to transport goods into and around the city. The program also encourages the use of sustainable last mile delivery solutions like electric trucks and commercial cargo bicycles.
