Hi folks,

Thanks for the great response from so many new readers who joined us last week.  It's a pleasure to bring you news from around the club and this week we have a few more Christmassy bits, a final on Saturday and two semi-finals on Sunday if you want to grab sight of Championships in December.

Always happy to hear from you with any comments or news from across the club.  We'll have one more Weekly News before the break, with news from the games, a round-up of the AGM next Tuesday and a word from the boss, our Chair Damian McKeown.

For now though...

DECEMBER CHAMPIONSHIP ACTION

Most groups have avoided the cold snap and the storm by finishing up training but our youngest crew in the Academy keep rolling on Saturday, as do the All-Stars.

A little further up the age range, our U21 Men's Footballers will take on Ballinterr for the B Championship title at 1-45 on Saturday.

Then both of our Minor Camogie teams have come through the group stages and play in Sunday Semi-Finals.  If one or both make it to a final that will be midweek next week so watch out on Social media for details.

SPEAKING OF SOCIAL MEDIA

You can keep up with the occasional bits of news, results, celebrations and more on whichever social media channel is your personal go-to spot on your phone.

We are @CUALACLG on Twitter, @CUALAGAA on Instagram and @CUALACLG on Facebook.

CHRISTMAS GIFT IDEAS AT THE CUALA SHOP

With red and white as our signature colours there are bound to be some festive goodies to catch the eye in the Cuala shop over the next two weeks.

It's always handy if Santa can include a top or whatever in his sack to save Mum and Dad from having to buy it during the year.

You could even make it easy for him with a Cuala Gift Card - can be redeemed online against any club branded sportswear item, equipment or accessory on Cuala's Online Shop.

A HELPING HAND FOR YOUNG HURLERS

There are so many boys hurling and girls playing Camogie with our great and successful club which is simply fantastic, and we’d love to see them all reach their potential in the beautiful game it is.

In order to achieve this, we simply cannot rely on the same small group of men and women that volunteer year after year who tirelessly commit their time and energy to help the kids improve their hurling skills and to play the game.

So we’d be delighted to hear from either former or current hurlers from within the club, who have themselves, benefitted so much from being coached by the club for so many years and would be interested in offering some of their time to help with coaching our juvenile boys (U11-U16) or Juvenile girls.

If you would like to offer your help you can make contact with Mick Kirwan from the Hurling Development Group @ 087 2226168 or kirwanbm@hotmail.com

IT'S DECEMBER SO LET THOSE SLEIGH BELLS RING

Dalkey Christmas Trees are back again this year at the end of Hyde Road adjacent to the Circle K garage.

Even better they have hooked up again with Support4Drummo so that a contribution from every tree you buy will go straight towards Sean's campaign.

And because planning is important we are also delighted to say that the Cuala Juvenile Boys will be out and about in January to collect the trees and dispose of them in a proper fashion, helping so many of our groups with one of the few fundraisers that have been possible this year.

BRICK BY BRICK BY BRICK AND THROUGH €1 MILLION

Well done to the Juvenile girls group who have produced two bricks now from teams in the effort to create our new #Home4Cuala.

The 2012 Girls were first in and the 2009 girls were quickly behind them.  They welcomed our senior players Jennifer Dunne and Sinead Wylde to training last week.

Love your team, make your mark on history by getting together.

email buyabrick@cualagaa.ie to say you're in.  Click on the tweet below to hear the girls sing out loud and proud for Cuala.

CLUB AGM THIS TUESDAY DECEMBER 14TH

The club AGM will now take place on Tuesday 14th December at 8 PM.

Because of rising Covid numbers, we are hosting the meeting online and we hope as many members as can make it will join us.

Details for the club AGM including a Members Pack and a copy of the financial reports have been sent out to all Club members over the age of 18.  If you have not received this please contact secretary.cuala.dublin@gaa.ie quoting your name and GAA registration number which you will have been sent at the time of paying your membership.

This is an important meeting for the club and it is always great to see new members who might be interested in playing a part in keeping everything we do ticking over and moving in the right direction.

It would be a big help if you are coming to register in advance, before Sunday 12th, and you can do that right here as a full member.

SLOW FASHION FOR CUALA

It's good for the environment and now it can be good for our club as well.

Fiona Sheehan is the owner of Fia Clothing and a member of our Cuala family.  She has pledged to give 10% of all sales from her Christmas pop up gift shop to the #home4cuala fund.

The clothing is of the very highest quality and you might recognise some of the models above from around the club as well.

Drop into Brian S Nolan between now and Christmas to chat to Fiona.  You will learn about slow fashion and get to see the full range of socks, scarves, beanies, caps, sweaters, cardigans, capes and throws.

LOTTO

No winner of the Cuala lotto this week with 11,12,20 and 22 the numbers drawn. There is the added bonus of a €100 prize for one player every week as part of the Lucky Dip, won this week by Mick Dunphy.
