Merry Christmas from the Christian International School of Prague!

CISP wishes you a merry Christmas and blessings for a new year. Despite many uncertainties this year, we were able to complete the first semester of school in person as well as host several events.

In the last few weeks, our chaplain has shared a series on Advent to encourage us as we eagerly anticipate the birth of Jesus. Our desire is that the story of the coming of Jesus will bring you hope for the new year.

Accreditation

The team from ACSI

CISP is accredited by ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) which is an accreditation agency that supports Christian schools around the world. ACSI values excellence in academics and Christ preeminent. Being accredited by ACSI means that CISP is also accredited by MSA (Middle States Association), which is a widely recognized accreditation organization in the USA. CISP was first accredited by ACSI and MSA in 2013.

The accreditation process verifies the education CISP provides. Completing this process shows that the school is willing to examine itself and wishes to improve. Accreditation holds the school accountable and helps the school improve in all facets: curriculum, safety, finances, structure, spirituality, and communication. It keeps the school accountable to staff, students, administration, parents, and any other stakeholders of the school.

In November, an accreditation team from ACSI visited the school. Our teachers and staff prepared for the visit by working in small groups to create reports for all areas of the school. Kate Parker played a leading role in preparing us for the accreditation visit and we are thankful for all she did.

During the visit, the ACSI accreditation team observed classes, reviewed our safety procedures, and talked with teachers, students and parents.

At the end of the visit, the ACSI team presented their findings and recommended CISP for re-accreditation! We are thankful for their visit and recommendation.

Fundraisers

CISP has launched fundraisers for new books, library shelves, PE equipment, and a refrigerator.

So far, we have raised over 60% of our goal for new library books, thanks to some generous donors.

There is still time to help us with your donation for tax year 2021! If you are not in a position to help us financially right now, then please consider sharing our needs with friends and family.

Alumni Event

On December 4, CISP hosted its first virtual alumni mixer. It was great to see alumni reconnect with each other and with their former teachers. While everyone was able to share an update on their life, we want to give special thanks to Ken Eichman, Aimee Finnegan, and Kelly Robinson for taking the time to prepare and share with our alumni.

About 13 alumni joined us, including almost all of the members of the class of 2017!  The alumni who attended expressed a desire to participate in more events in the future and invite more fellow alumni to join. If you know any CISP alumni, we would be grateful if you could let them know about our LinkedIn group or share our newsletter so that they can be a part of future events.

Christmas Concert

We are so thankful that we were able to host an in-person secondary Christmas concert! The concert was directed by Vartan Agopian and our CISP Choral Society was joined by Czech folk group Chmelnička and other professional musicians. The concert was also streamed on YouTube and can be viewed again here:
