Girls Basketball Game at Soaring Heights
Monday, January 10th
3:30-5:00 PM

Greetings Soaring Heights Families,

The wind swirls around with great gusts, lifting tumble weeds into the air while freezing rain pounds the ground. Not even the artic winds of Erie can chill the warm and generous spirit of the Soaring Heights community. Thanks to our community we have supported not only our own families in need, but have included children in the Denver Metro area by donating to Precious Child with toys for the holidays. From our entire staff, we hope this same warmth fills your homes over break. We wish everyone a safe and relaxing winter break.

We had an exciting last few weeks with many amazing experiences for our students. Some highlights include: 2nd graders programing Spheros to draw snowmen, 5th graders engaging in Socratic seminar as part of a culminating event, orchestra caroling throughout the school, 6th graders interacting with OceanFirst scientists to support their design thinking challenge of how to reduce over-fishing, 21 competitive Soaring Heights robotics teams competed, our Cyber Patriots teams are currently ranked 4th, 10th, and 23rd in Colorado, 12 students were nominated to either the district honor choir or the All-State Choir, our girls basketball team is having a great season, and a successful astronomy night.

Please take a moment to read the Superintendents Update to learn more about the many wonderful programs in our district.  Soaring Heights’ neuroscience focus was highlighted in the article about student wellbeing and safety.

We are incredibly thankful for our students, parents, and teachers who help make Soaring Heights such a fantastic place to learn. Looking forward to seeing everyone in the New Year on January 5.

Please let us know if you need help with anything.

Best wishes,

Cyrus Weinberger, Principal
Meghan Quirk, Assistant Principal
Krystal Trinkler, Dean of Students
Matt Romig, Dean of Students
