A message from Councillor Andreas Kirsch, Leader of Kingston Council

Councillor Andreas Kirsch"As we approach Christmas and many of us enjoy the seasonal attractions in Kingston's town centres, it is a reminder how important a thriving local economy is to the borough.

"History and heritage are important to many of us at this time of year and those sentiments are at the core of our Transform Kingston plans as we continue to support the economic and cultural recovery of the borough.

"We are working with award-winning architects, FaulknerBrowns, to deliver a leisure centre fit for the future on the site of the Kingfisher. We have had some fantastic engagement meetings with key stakeholders and communities across the borough - thank you to everyone who has dropped by and shared feedback on our proposals.

"I would like to remind everyone that the survey is still open until 31 December - this will be the last chance to share your feedback on what the new leisure centre will look like.

"May I wish everyone a joyful festive season, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year."

Share your views on our budget proposals for 2022-23

55p of every £1 of your council tax helps us to protect vulnerable adults and children.

Our job is to deliver services which help make our borough a great place to live, work or study.

Over the last 10 years the way we are funded has presented us with significant challenges and we need to meet increasing needs as our population grows and changes. This is as well as dealing with the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on council services and finances.

We couldn’t do any of this without you, so we want to hear your views on our proposed budget for 2022-23. You can tell us your thoughts by filling in our short survey by 16 January 2022 at kingstonletstalk.co.uk/2022-2023-budget.
