Notice of Markham Jazz Festival Annual General Meeting and Call for Volunteers!
WHEN: Sunday, January 9, 2022 – 1:00 p.m.
WHERE: on ZOOM. The link will be sent closer to actual date to those who register.
WHAT: Presentation of the 2021 Financial Statements, election of 2022 Directors, and “Year in Review” highlights of the 2021 Virtual Festival.
HOW TO ATTEND: We ask that you register in advance to attend this meeting.
To register, send an email to contactus@markhamjazzfestival.com before Jan. 6 and use the subject line: “I would like to join the TDMJF AGM”.
You will receive a confirming email with details about how to join. Please check all your email folders since it may go to your spam folder depending on your security settings. You will be able to join the session starting at approximately 12:45 pm.
A general committee meeting will follow the AGM to kick off our 2022 planning. You are welcome to attend if you are interested in joining our planning committee. We will send a separate Zoom link for that meeting.
INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING?
We have many ways you can help make this an even better festival going forward. In 2022, it should (we hope) be a regular festival, and if so we will need more people on the planning committee and also on festival weekend (August 19-21, 2022) To join the 2022 festival committee meeting, please let us know by Jan. 6. The TD Markham Jazz Festival is a not-for-profit organization with a mandate to enrich cultural life in the region by bringing emerging and established jazz artists to Markham for all to enjoy. Established in 1998, the festival draws more than 25,000 residents and visitors to the streets of Unionville during the third weekend in August. Local and international artists deliver over 30 open-air performances during the weekend as well as in selected “hot spots” and at a ticketed opening-night concert. During the year, the festival hosts “Hot Spot Concerts” at selected venues in Markham. TD Canada Trust became its title sponsor in 2014.
