Week of December 12-18 2021

Greetings Participants and Parishioners! It’s the 3rd Week of Advent!

Did you notice what color the Priest was wearing yesterday? The theme for this week of Advent is Joy! and the color is pink, or rose. It is also called Gaudete Sunday, which means “rejoice.” Today we rejoice because we are one week closer to celebrating Christmas and the coming of Christ.

Today is the feast day of St Lucy. Lucy was an early martyr of the church. She is the patron saint of the blind because though her eyes were gouged out, God restored them. Read more about her here.

Here is our schedule for the rest of December:

Wednesday, December 15 Unfortunately the St Isidore School Advent Performance was cancelled. But we did not know in time to prepare for class this week we will still not be meeting this week.

Wednesday, December 22 we were originally not going to hold class since it is so close to Christmas, but we have decided to have a potluck dinner instead. Invite your family and come enjoy a relaxing evening and conversation with us. Bring a dish to share! Let me know if you plan on coming so we can prepare.

Wednesday, December 29 - we will not have class as it is the week between Christmas and New Years.

We meet for Breaking Open the Word every Sunday at 10am Mass. After the priest’s homily, he will call forward all who are participating in RCIA. He says a blessing over you then dismisses you with one of our team members to meet together and discuss the bible readings that were just read at mass.

It is very helpful if you arrive to mass early so you can sit close to the front. It helps us know who is present and it’s a shorter walk for you when the priest calls you forward.
