WINTER ARTS SHOWCASE

Call for Artists 

Park City, UT

Applications are now open for the Winter Arts Showcase, an artisanal market and art showcase featuring local artists and developed in partnership with the Arts Council and the Park City Artists Association (‘PCAA’). The Showcase will take place on President's Day Weekend, February 18-20, at the Utah Film Studios and will feature artwork and handcrafted artisanal goods for sale. Learn more and apply here.

UMOCA

Call for Artists

Salt Lake City, UT 

The UMOCA Artist-in-Residence Program is the only long-term artist residency designed specifically to meet the needs of artists living in Utah. Utah artists will be selected primarily based on demonstrated artistic potential, commitment to working in a contemporary idiom, willingness to participate in a robust and intellectually-engaged community of artists, and readiness to devote the time necessary to advance their professional careers to the next level. Residents will receive a wide variety of benefits from the museum, including one year of free studio space inside the museum, private meetings with art world professionals, workshops in professional development, special access to visiting artists and lecturers, and an exhibition in the A.I.R. Space Gallery at the culmination of their residency. Learn more and apply here.

SOUTHEASTERN ART

Salt Lake City, UT

The Southeastern Art Show and Market (SEASAM) call for artists is now open for adults and youth. SEASAM features 18 judges' awards for adults, 10 awards for youth ages 14 and older and a people's choice award. Artists must be from federally recognized Southeastern or Woodland tribes. 4th FLOOR GALLERY AT THE 
UTAH STATE CAPITOL

The  Utah State Capitol's 4th Floor Gallery is interested in exhibition proposals that feature Utah's landscapes, architecture, or its history and heritage. Selected artists or curators receive honoraria, curatorial guidance, and promotion of the exhibition. Click the button below to read the full guidelines. $500 provided to artists selected for a solo exhibition, and $200 provided to each artist in a group exhibition.  ⁣


UMOCA'S ART TRUCK EXHIBITION

Utah

UMOCA is looking for artists to curate relevant, engaging, and accessible artwork in small space. The goal of this project is to engage with students in schools and on the road through UMOCA's mobile museum exhibition, the Art Truck. The Art Truck exhibition theme must resonate with K-12 students and be understood and explored within a 30-minute visit. The Art Truck is on the road year-round, with a two week installation turnaround in August. Details and application here.


VSA PLAYWRIGHT DISCOVERY PROGRAM

Call for Scripts

National  

Young writers (ages 15-18) with disabilities are invited to submit a "ten-minute script" of any genre for the opportunity to participate in a virtual playwrights program. Scripts may be for plays, musicals, multimedia, video, film, TV, podcasts, or other writing for performance. Winners will receive modest financial awards and have the opportunity to work with industry professionals to further develop their script, receive coaching/mentorship, and participate in networking opportunities. POETRY OUT LOUD

The National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation have partnered with the Utah Arts & Museums Arts Education Program to support Poetry Out Loud, which encourages Utah’s youth to learn about great poetry through memorization and performance. Registration is open for Poetry Out Loud, a poetry recitation contest for all 9th-grade through 12th-grade students.  Learn more and apply at the link above.

SKOPELOS FOUNDATION
FOR THE ARTS

Residency 

SkopArt, an American owned and operated artist studio located on the gorgeous Greek island of Skopelos is offering artists residencies for 2023. The studio is equipped for ceramists, mixed-media artists, painters, printmakers and sculptors. CLASSICS FOR KIDS FOUNDATION

Grant

The Classics for Kids Foundation believes that playing a stringed instrument can transform a child, giving them experiences and skills that can help make them more successful in life. The foundation is inviting applications for its matching grant program. Through the program, grants will be awarded to schools or nonprofit organizations to support the incorporation of string instruments into music education programs. All instruments in the string family are supported (including guitars and ukuleles). Programs must serve children from kindergarten through grade twelve. To be eligible, applicants must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and be based in the United States.


PERFORMING ARTS FELLOWSHIP | DANCE

Deadline: Mar. 7
Fellowship 

The 2022 Performing Arts Fellowship Program will focus on theater, and will award six $5,000 fellowships to individual artists. Performing arts disciplines rotate every three years between dance, music, and theatre. Applying artists must demonstrate professionalism in their practice through quality work samples. Artists must be Utah residents not enrolled in any undergraduate degree granting program. Fellowship awards are unrestricted funds and do not require matching funds.

The Kimball Arts Center is now hiring for a Marketing & Events Coordinator. The coordinator will work to expand KAC’s efforts to develop a stronger brand presence within the region.
