Dear <<First Name>>

With Christmas just nine days away, I thought I might take a moment to show you what the holidays look like for the pets at Sydney Dogs & Cats Home.

It may sound sad to spend Christmas in a shelter for lost and abandoned pets, but we don't see it that way.

As I write this, we have 127 pets in our care. Some are at our shelter, some are receiving treatment at our vet clinic and others are in foster homes sniffing out the gifts under the Christmas tree. No matter where they are, every pet receives the essentials for a safe and happy Christmas, including:
  • a safe, cosy space of their own where they can rest
  • nutritious food and fresh water (and lots of treats!)
  • opportunities to exercise their body and mind
  • freedom from harm, suffering and neglect
  • social opportunities with other pets and our dedicated staff and volunteers.
Most importantly, for pets who don't have a home to go back to, being at our shelter this Christmas is a sure way to receive the best gift there is - the gift of a forever home.

We recently shared Zodiac's tale of triumph with you, and some stories about his shelter mates Six and Bambi. I know many of you have been keeping them in your thoughts. We're very pleased to let you know Bambi had his final dental surgery on Tuesday with no complications and he's feeling bright and happy. In other good news, Six and Zodiac have been flooded with adoption enquiries since my last email.
While Zodiac, Six and Bambi wait for the right family to come along, there have been many more pets in need of extensive care turning up at our door. We still need help to raise our goal $110,230 for our Christmas Appeal to make sure we can provide it in the new year.

We would be so grateful if you'd consider making a kind donation today to help more pets like Zodiac. Time is running out as Christmas and the new year approaches, with thousands of pets with it.

HELP US REACH OUR GOAL
A gift this Christmas will give pets the safe and happy Christmas they deserve and support pets like Zodiac who are yet to come into our care. If you're able to make a gift to the Christmas Appeal, please do so here

Wishing you a safe and wonderful Christmas. With our supporters behind us, we look forward to seeing what we can achieve for lost and abandoned pets in the new year!

Warm regards,

Rebecca Beare
Acting General Manager

P.S. So far we've managed to raise $50,000 for the Christmas Appeal, but we still have over $60,000 to go to secure a future for the thousands of pets who will call our shelter home next year. If you're able to make a donation, please do so here.
