We're ringing in the New Year Japanese-style with an ozoni lunch.
Sign-up via Google forms to get the exact address.
Time: 11AM to help cook (optional); 12NOON to eat
Location: Arisa & Bhargav's place in San Francisco (near Balboa Park Bart Station), address to be shared
Chip-in: $5 for ingredients
*Vaccination required. Participants will be capped at 20.
*Masks will be worn indoors; will eat outdoors in the backyard

SF JACL Insider's Career Workshop: Pathway to Medical School

The San Francisco Chapter of the Japanese American Citizens League is pleased to present its second Insider's Career Workshop featuring Dr. Danny Hiroyuki Teraguchi, a veteran admissions officer at various medical schools across the country. He will walk participants through the challenging process and offer tips and advice for prospective applicants. Come prepared to ask any questions and receive a special offer only for participants. Don't miss this exciting workshop!

Free for San Francisco and other JACL Chapter members, $20 for non-members.

Civil Liberties in Times of Crisis: The Japanese American Experience

JACL and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) are inviting seventy-two educators to explore the historical significance and enduring legacy of the World War II Japanese American incarceration experience and the reparations movement. While past participants are primarily social studies and humanities teachers at the K-12 levels, all are invited to apply. For more info, click here.

Peace Plaza Renovation Project

The SF Recreation and Parks Department continues to conduct technical surveys on the Peace Plaza and the Japan Center Garage.
While the technical work continues, the JTF team spoke with Phil from Soko Hardware and his memories of the Peace Plaza and growing up in Japantown. Video Link
