When I ran into Kayla* in the parking lot, I had no idea I had met her before. We just started talking, and since I was walking to our hot cocoa outreach, I invited her to come along. She came to get hot cocoa, we continued talking, and our conversation ended how most of my conversations with female students end, exchanging numbers and making plans to get coffee. However, when we pulled out our phones to exchange numbers we were both surprised to see we had texted each other before. It turns out, Kayla* filled out a Cru contact form as a freshman, three years ago. I texted her some back then, but she was always too busy to get together or come to any Cru stuff. Now, her senior year, we reconnected in a parking lot!
Fast forward, two weeks later, and we finally (3 years in the making) got to get coffee and I got to share the Gospel with her (that God loves her and even though she’s a sinner, He sent His One and only Son, Jesus, to live the perfect life she couldn’t live and die for her so that through Jesus alone she can have a relationship with God the Father). She said while she finally understood the Gospel and wanted to start a relationship with God, she just wasn't ready. So we kept talking and made plans to continue to meet. Please join me in praying for her and that the Lord works in her heart in His perfect timing.
