Dear friends and supporters,
SAVA PAC team leaders and activists continue with the grassroots initiatives of networking, meeting the candidates and elected officials, discussions with other politically engaged individuals, and most of all spreading the idea among our own electorate to get the American Serbs politically engaged. Our team is laser focused on our mission, looking ahead toward 2022 elections, and discussing all relevant domestic and international issues.
We wish to thank many of you who continue supporting and encouraging this mission, and we call on you to join us and get active in your own state. You are ALL important, no matter your political party, ideology, or other political affinities. We need you to get involved in your community!
As we have also noted in the previous issue of our Newsletter, there has been an increase in negative media narratives in the past months concerning to the interest of the Serbian people. That trend has continued and it is very worrisome in light of the recent developments we are also witnessing in Serbia itself. We call upon all our Serbian people, no matter where they are, to stand together and united, as the internal divisions among us are deliberate, purposeful and only serve our opponents. The more divided we are, the easier it is to manipulate our common plight, which is why we must remain united, aware and vigilant.
In a recent discussion between two prominent journalists, Greenwald and Beattie, there was a segment that rings very true for us as Americans, but also as Serbs who have in the past been through similar scenarios. It was a step by step formula used to generally destabilize a chosen target:
*identify and inflame ethnic, racial or gender tensions
*leverage NGOs and civil society groups to mobilize mass protest based on above tensions
*leverage local or international media to cover protests and spread particular narrative
The formula sounds very simple, and awkwardly familiar as we have seen it time and time again. As an interesting example of the 1990s anti-Serbian narrative that led the witch hunt was CNN. It seems that trend continues. Christiane Amanpour, who has built her career on the noted 1990s propaganda, is back at it full force, hosting former leader of the Bosnian Muslims, Haris Silajdzic who is renewing the calls for intervention. Fmr. Bosnian presidency member 'very worried' about possible conflict (cnn.com)
Dear Serbs, as you can see, we are faced with many opposing factors who are in no way going to let up the increasing pressure. Please hold each other close, along with all our American allies and friends around the globe. We have all noticed that something is not right with the world any longer, and unity is the only path forward in order to preserve our liberty, dignity, and humanity. Stay strong and we shall persevere!
In Liberty,
SAVA Team
