Eastside Community Heritage ran a series of oral history preservation workshops with a school in Newham. The main aim of the workshops was to teach school children how to keep oral history interviews safe for the future.
Remembering Marks Gate and North Chadwell Heath
“My first impression when I got there before I even got into the school and when we arrived and from the bus and walked along the road it was the fresh air; it smelt of the country side and the air seemed so much fresher.”
Rosemary Rodgers, Marks Gate

As City Hall moves to the Crystal building, we are really pleased to see the road will be called Kamal Chunchie Way. Eastside Community Heritage hold the Kamal Chunchie archive and have campaigned for this for the past 20 years.
