Hello,
What an amazing weekend we had last week as we were blessed by Mark Aldridge from New Wine bringing God's Word to us so powerfully. Isn't it amazing that as ordinary as we are, God thinks we are extraordinary. We were left, without a doubt, knowing how much God loves us. Let us continue to pray this prayer from Ephesians Ch 3 for ourselves, our church family and our community.

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

And so we are looking forward to seeing you all again this Sunday at either 9am or for our first @Connect service starting at 10am with breakfast. We anticipate God speaking to us and challenging us whatever our age. Come and be family altogether, as we worship and see what God is going to do among us.

Oasis, as always, meets midweek on Wednesday at 11am -  followed by the Hub Cafe this week. Do join us.

Wednesday 8th December

Messy Christingle. 5.30-7pm

What it says on the tin - a chance for all the family to gather, to enjoy a meal and to remember again the Christmas message through the Christingle messy activities. Numbers limited please book at : events@pennfieldsparish.co.uk

Sunday 12th December - beginning with breakfast at 10am

Our new flavour of worship for All Ages.                                                                                  We look forward with excitement to what joining together in this way will offer and all that God will do amongst us from age 0-100!!  If you have in the past avoided attending  All Age services, do pray around this and seriously consider joining us for this "New Thing" God is leading us into.

CAROL SERVICE - All Nations Church Wolverhampton with Canon J John                          Entry: By double entry free ticket only  -  one half for yourself and the other for a guest who you want to introduce to Jesus or is seeking God in their lives. Be praying about who to invite and get your tickets from the office.

UPDATES
Our Christmas Advertising
If you receive "The Park" or "The Clock" free publications through your letterbox, then you may have spotted our Christmas services and events here at St Phil's are advertised in them. Special thanks to the publishers of these booklets for the free advertising they have provided for us. 
                                 
Our Christmas flyers are now available in church - please do use them to give to friends and family. It has been suggested that if we each took 10 and pushed them through the 10 homes nearest to ours we could all see 1 household come and join us. Better still, knock the door and give them to your neighbours - a personal invite increases the chance that they might just come along.   

Helping Others

It is not too late to help out with their Reverse Advent Calendar Campaign - you could even catch up with the days you have missed. There are also the boxes at church where you can drop off your donations to help the many people in Wolverhampton who just can't afford to put food on the table.

PRAY
Why not join us to pray on Mondays at 7pm for half an hour? Details in the bulletin 

1. Continue to pray that God would raise up or bring us new musicians and singers for our Music Ministry Team. We feel led to press into prayer very specifically for God to resource this area of our church life.

2. Lat week we were encouraged to pray around what a ministry to our 18+ age group might look like. We continue to pray for this age group as we pray for the young adults of our church family away at university. For some the run up to Christmas is exam season or a time of deadlines. For many of them they will be busy with Christmas events in their churches or Christian Unions. Pray they will be able to balance their time between study, service and of course enjoying the student social scene with Christmas events. Pray for a refreshing Christmas break for them. Do say "Hi" to them if you see them at church over the Christmas holidays and find out how they are doing.

3. Pray for the city wide Carol Service with J John. Pray for
  • Al,l of the final preparations & practicalities
  • Pray for many more bold invites to take place and be accepted. Pray that God would be stirring up and preparing the hearts of those who will hear the Gospel message
  • Pray for those who lead the service, for the musicians, for the response team and for J John himslef.
  • Pray against any attack of the devil to thwart this amazing city wide outreach

4.  Over the coming weeks we will pray for each of the activities that take place weekly in our church,
This week let's pray for our team of Leaders & Preachers at this particularly busy time of year.
  • Pray for those who will lead or preach over the Christmas period. Pray for each by name that God would give them the words to speak and that they would, as they give out to others, receive a fresh anointing of God's Spirit. (Peter, Treena, Andrew, Robert, Mark, Janine, Jo, Deb)
  • Pray for times of rest and restoration amidst the busyness of the season
  • Pray for the other members of our leading and preaching team that they would always be open to hear from God as they prepare to lead services and bring God's Word to us. Pray for Ian, David, Andrea, Gareth, Elaine.
  • Pray for the whole team, for a real discernment of what we need to hear as a church and that they would faithfully be God's mouth piece.
