That's right... our first Dungeness Crab of the season and it's for our CSF Members––COOKED!

These Crab are caught up North as our Monterey Bay season isn't open yet. They are big and beautiful––cooked with nothing but salt and water.

Click here for a great video on HOW TO CLEAN A COOKED DUNGENESS CRAB.

We've included a recipe below from Bachan's that would be great for cooked crab but these cooked crab can be enjoyed cold or reheated several ways.

Click here to read 5 Easy Ways to Reheat Crab. We LOVE Dungeness simply dipped in our melted Shellfish Butter!

We also love a good Crab Cake recipe... it's a labor of love but here's a traditional Old Bay Recipe. If you need it, we have plenty of Old Bay in stock. We also have all the Crab Tools available if you need any.

The Crab will come 1 per Couple Share, 1/2 for Single Share. The Single Shares of Crab will be a Crab that has been cut in half, guts cleaned out.

We are going to do our best to get the Crab to fit in your coolers, but if you have a large share or an extra order, please be sure to check your drop-site cooler before you leave in case you have multiple bags. We have a limited supply but there's a bit more up for grabs in the store if you'd like to add more to your order.

If you are on the "No Shellfish" list, you'll be getting fresh local Rockfish, unless you've specified that Squid is okay as an exception, in which case you'll receive the cleaned Squid below.

2 Meal per Week "No Shellfish" Members will receive Rockfish and Salmon or Bluefin. If you'd prefer to skip this week, please feel welcome to place a hold here.

Crab makes for a very tricky week for us so we'd appreciate if you can manage your needs/changes online and avoid the request for further modifications, as we already have our modifications list set and numbers crunched. We appreciate your understanding and hope you enjoy getting crackin' on these gifts of the sea. 🧡🦀

Two Meal per Week Members Local Cleaned Squid
Fresh Whole Squid on ice

While the photo above shows whole Squid, not to worry - our CSF Squid this week will be coming to you CLEANED.

These Monterey Bay Squid will be a mix of tubes & tentacles.

There are so many incredible ways to enjoy Squid––especially when it's as easy as coming already cleaned! Of course, there's the traditional deep-fried calamari (Easy Calamari recipe here) or even one of my favorites Squid ceviche.

But what we do most in our household is the simplest of sautés in a mix of butter/oil. Let the butter/oil combo melt til it just starts to smoke and toss the Squid right in. It won't take more than 2 minutes until it's done! (If you've pre-sliced the tubes into rings.) A little S&P is all it needs. Even some simple garlic in the mix is so amazing.

If you wanted to use this very shellfish-rich week to make a Cioppino or Seafood Stew, we have plenty of other shellfish here to complete the meal.

However, you make it––we hope you enjoy it!
