I'm pleased to share with you CRHE's 2021 Annual Report, Built to Last: Sustaining Our Mission to Support Homeschooled Kids.

Whether you're a new friend or a longtime supporter, I hope you'll read our Annual Report to learn more about CRHE's work over the last year -- and that if you haven't already done so, you'll consider supporting us today so we can reach our end-of-year goal.

 

• Defeated Michigan HB 4063, a bill that would have made it legal for abusive parents to pull their children out of school and exploit them for child labor
• Published the Bill of Rights for Homeschooled Children, a powerful vision of what homeschooling can be and should be
• Presented on homeschooling research and policy at the Harvard Homeschooling Summit and in four other academic and professional venues
• Issued statements on homeschooling leadership and attacks on American democracy and on flawed U.S. Census research on homeschooling
• Generated media coverage in Teen Vogue and a dozen other publications
• Joined the National Coalition to End Child Marriage in the United States
• Created the twice-monthly #HomeschoolChat, a new way for homeschool alumni to process their experiences and build community

Sustaining this work requires staff time, and that's in short supply: since our founding, CRHE has had an all-volunteer staff. This year, we're looking to change that. We're raising $30,000 to hire our first paid, part-time executive director, who will start at the end of March. We're so close! Right now, board member Carmen Longoria-Green is matching donations, and we need just $1,000 more to complete the match and hit our goal.
