ANAO report on the administration of the R&D Tax Incentive


The Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) has published its performance audit report on the administration of the R&D Tax Incentive (R&DTI).

We welcome the ANAO’s conclusion that our administration of the R&DTI is largely effective and will implement their recommendations. Our formal response is included in the report.

Reminder to use individual email addresses for registrations 

Companies and tax agents are reminded to use individual email addresses on all R&D Tax Incentive registrations. 

Some recent applications have included contacts linked to generic email addresses - using these should be avoided as it can lead to correspondence being sent to the wrong contact. 
 

Australian inventions get TIME magazine treatment 


Innovative Australian technology has been recognised among TIME Magazine’s ‘Best inventions of 2021’.

Three of the featured companies – Synchron, Nura, and Espresso – have received support for their research and development through a variety of AusIndustry programs, particularly the R&D Tax Incentive.

If you’re an R&D entity, you may also need to consider the special rules applied to consolidated groups and R&D partnerships when applying to register for the R&D Tax Incentive.
