10,000 lbs of fruit officially surpassed!

In March 2020 #ForestrGleans' program lead, Grazyna, celebrated her first orange gleaning of 100 lbs. By the end of that same year she had donated 2800 lbs and set the next cumulative goal: 5000 lbs.

Then, with the help of a handful of volunteers, #ForestrGleans reached that goal in April 2021.
 

At that time, we set the next cumulative goal at 10,000 lbs!

 
Honestly, we didn't think we'd reach it in 2021. October/November were pretty slow and for a few months our number had been 'almost' 10,000 lbs of fruit harvested and donated'.

Then, this weekend, we gleaned 347 lbs of persimmons at the wonderful Heirloom East Bay Farms,

We surpassed the 10,000 lb goal by 64 lbs!!!

Thanks to everyone for joining forces for the massive persimmon harvest!

We are humbled by the generosity of the tree owners and the volunteers, and hope these fruits will not only put a smile on the receiving families' faces but will also provide the nutrition that everyone needs to stay healthy.
