DIRECTORS' NOTE
Daily routines interrupted. Life milestones cancelled. Adjusting to working from home, or worse, not being able to work or go to school at all. These are the crises we have all faced as the pandemic continues. All these awful circumstances have come together to impact the addiction crisis in America by isolating those who are in most need of care.
We see this crisis unfolding in our community every day. A quick scan through GoUpstate mugshots, the obituaries or a simple stroll through our downtown puts this tragedy at our feet every day. Families are torn apart; dreams are shattered, and children are left without a parent. We are simply left feeling powerless to this epidemic.
At GoForth Recovery we are blessed to witness the triumph and restoration of lives through our residents’ commitment to our program - Recovery, Responsibility and Community. We watch these men go from a hopeless and helpless state to a life filled with hope and joy. Our graduates have reunited with their families and children, obtained well-paying employment with benefits, pursued higher education, gotten married and moved into their own homes. Our greatest joy comes from seeing the men in our program reconnect with their children. Being a father again provides them with a sense of purpose and fuels their dedication to long-term recovery. All this is possible through God’s grace and the generous donations from people like you.
