What's on this month

• IGDA NYC Holiday Social (Dec 9th) - Whether it's just to chat, get some feedback or show off a project, come and spend some time catching up in an informal weekend setting (while vaccinated and masked) before the end of the year!

• CoExist Gaming DevExp Game Jam (Dec 11th) - A week long game jam where teams compete to create a competitive game integrated with the Challonge API in Unity!

On The Horizon

• Global Game Jam registration is open! Happening January 20th-30th, find a participating virtual site (like the Sheep's Meow) or keep an eye out for more local sites around the city!
• Africa Games Week February 23-25, 2022

• The 2021 Developer Satisfaction Survey is available if you haven't checked it out already. Composed of data provided in early 2021, the survey provides insights into areas of growth, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement throughout the games industry. Read it here

Making Waves

• The Game Devs of Color Expo team has started releasing their 2021 talks and interviews on Youtube! Make sure to check back every week for newly released videos, and sign up for the mailing list for news and extra job posts!

• Check out the NYC Games Industry Economic Impact Study by the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment

• ANNY has put together a recap from this years ANNY Best of Fest!

• Become a member and support Death by Audio Arcade and Wonderville during their membership drive! Memberships are split 50/50 between the two organizations and help to keep the space running, as well as fund new arcade projects!

• The Sheep's Meow will be hosting their Global Game Jam site virtually this year, and registration is open!

• Applications to join GUMBO are open! GUMBO is a non-profit collective of indie game creators located in Dumbo, Brooklyn formed to inspire and motivate each other, stay current in the indie game makers community, and expand and already amazing skill-sharing network.

• ANNY Exchange is a Talent Connect Initiative for Animation Nights New York. Want to participate and be added to the database of Animation Talent from all around the world? More info here

• Shillelagh by Andrew Thomas, is a fast and frantic arena shooter where players are armed with the aura of nature to defend against destructive, undead monsters.

• Solar Ash by Heart Machine, available on the Epic Games Store and on Playstation consoles, is a highly stylized action adventure set amidst a surreal dreamscape filled with long-abandoned ruins of great civilizations.

• Moncage by Optillusion, is a unique puzzle adventure game where you explore a fascinating world trapped inside a mysterious cube.

• Insecure: The Come-Up Game by Glow Up Games - Battle to the top of LA’s rap game with the crew from Insecure as your guides! Check out the link to sign up for Early Access!

Playtest

• Project Anomaly: Urban Supernatural Investigator by Adlan A. Ramly is a 2.5D first-person adventure mystery game where you play as an investigator who solves cases by taking pictures of anomalies & befriending them.

NY Tech Meetup Founder Spotlight: Fonta Gilliam - Join the NY Tech Meetup for this virtual event series spotlighting founders and leaders that are adapting their businesses to make it work during this time of so much uncertainty.
