In partnership with our member association Clio '92, we are pleased to invite to our next Annual Conference! The Conference, titled What is History for?, will take place in Bologna, Italy from April 28 to May 1 2022.  We look forward to welcoming history and citizenship educators from all across the globe, offering a rich programme full of active workshops, keynote lectures, networking and discussion sessions. 

Please note that our 2022 Conference will be limited to a maximum number of 100 participants.  We encourage you to secure your spot as soon as possible to join us in beautiful Bologna!

Lead a workshop at our Annual Conference in Bologna?

We are looking for inspiring and interactive workshops related to the topic of our Annual Conference: 'What is history for? History and the present world'. The workshops should last max. 90 minutes, be hosted in English and touch on the general topic of the Conference or the following subtopics: History as a tool to promote diversity; history as a tool to reflect on the present; or history as a tool to encourage the development of competences for democratic culture.

Over the course of the pandemic, we have faced fist-hand the challenges that distance learning brings. One of these challenges is the need to create a safe online learning environment. In this interactive webinar hosted by Nena Močnik, we will discover online tools which teachers can use to facilitate a safe online learning environment. We will also discuss practical solutions for how to tackle so-called "difficult subjects" in an online environment.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to take part in EuroClio's project, Online Teaching in the Visegrad Region! If you are from either the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland or Slovakia and are interested in designing and developing ready-to-use Online Learning Activities - then this could be an opportunity for you! Team members will implement a place-based learning toolkit that will challenge students to think about the legacies of historical injustices, and how they can be prevented in the future. Applicants need to be available to pilot the project from September to December 2022, be able to join our first international meeting on February 17-20 2022 and apply with two people. The day after the World Congress of School History Teachers in Moscow, EuroClio had the opportunity to visit Russkoe Slovo, an independent publishing house producing history textbooks for use in the Russian educational system. It turned out to be a highly educational visit, with reflections on the current state of history textbook publishing in Russia and the digitisation process taking place in the publishing sector.  Read more on our webpage -> 

'Maus' is a graphic novel that uses a comic strip style to tell the chronicle of a family during the Holocaust. It is a personal memoir that explores different methods to deal with the experienced horrors of the Holocaust. Our reviewer explores how Spiegelman combines storytelling, visual arts and the concept of post-memory to connect the past and the present - all while providing a few tips and resources for use in the classroom.
