How do you get ready for Christmas? For a lot of people, it's music. Tonight is our first in person concert in two years! Read what Dr. Michael Cromwell has to say about the music tonight and this Sunday afternoon.
It’s Beginning to ‘SOUND’ a lot like Christmas!

It probably comes as no surprise, but I love Christmas music. There is something about the sounds of this season that puts a smile on our faces and warmth in our hearts. (On a side note, one of the benefits of being a music/worship minister is that I get to listen to Christmas music beginning in the summer as I start to prepare for the Advent and Christmas season.)

I am humbled and ecstatic that God has given me a voice to sing His praises! What about you? (You don’t have to be a skilled or trained singer to praise God through music.) When we are in the presence of Jesus, we can’t help but sing: sing his praises… sing of his goodness… sing of his faithfulness… sing of his forgiveness, mercy, and extravagant grace… sing of his love that came down at Christmas.

I am also humbled that God allows me to serve a church that values music and the worship arts. If you have attended any of our traditional services, I don’t have to tell you how blessed we are because of the ministry of our Sanctuary Choir. The Sanctuary Choir is an incredible community that loves one another and loves to worship God through music. Our desire is that our love for God, each other, and our community is evident every time we sing.

With that said, the Sanctuary Choir has been working hard toward our first in-person concert in two years. To say we are excited is an understatement! I would like to invite you to our annual Christmas Festival Concerts on Friday, December 10 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 12 at 3 p.m. Our handbell choir and the Georgia Philharmonic will join us for this special concert, and there will even be a chance for you to sing along to some Christmas favorites. Complimentary tickets are available in the Worship Arts Office, Sanctuary building; Main Office, Chapel building; or by calling 770.594.0512. You can also watch the
live stream of the concert online or on demand beginning Monday, December 13. Don’t forget to stop by and see our current art exhibit, The Sights and Sounds of Christmas, in the Charis Gallery when you are on campus. We hope and pray that the sounds of the season will bring warmth to your heart, a smile to your face, and praise to our God.

Grace and Peace,

God uses music to do some of His best work in a heart. I am thankful for the music at Roswell UMC, and I am thankful for Michael's leadership. Hope to see you tonight or Sunday at the concert!
