ABOUT THE NEIGHBORHOOD! Tremé Highlights
Tremé is the city's 2nd oldest neighborhood and is
a culturally & architecturally rich area.
Nearby Favorites
1201 N. Roman is less than 2 blocks to Esplanade, a beautiful French Quarter to City Park gateway lined with some of the city's most historic homes. The area is a hub for budding culinarians and delicious offerings.
Old Road Coffee, on historic Bayou Road, is just around the corner. You'll appreciate the offerings and community it provides.
Steps away on Esplanade, Flagpole Coffee has a Cuban flair offering "brews, eats & sweets." Frequent outdoor concerts and markets add energy to the area. Stop for an espresso, or a Pastellito and a fresh squeezed juice... and oh the guava!
Radical Joy Bakery is another area star. Order creative custom cakes, handcrafted cookies and more online to pick up nearby. I love the name!
Leo's Bread is a half mile up and just off Esplanade. The tantalizing aroma greets you upon entry... another welcoming addition to the neighborhood. Charming Pagoda Cafe is just across the street.

Sunday mass at St. Augustine is a heart-lifting welcoming experience for all.
This nearly 200-year-old historic African American Catholic church is the spiritual heart of the Tremé neighborhood.
See mass in person or on Facebook Live . Mass is currently celebrated in the parish hall while Hurricane Ida repairs are underway.
And, there is so much more to Tremé! Delve deeper with this previous area homage: includes an outing dear with friends the Baron & Baroness de Pontalba and Tremé Artist & Resident Andrew Lamar Hopkins.

Among my fondest memories are the stylish soirees my dear friend Julia Reed hosted at Belmont. She'd sweet-talk the owner and then create magical events. Julia spearheaded the phenomenal growth of the Delta Hot Tamale Festival which attracted top authors and chefs. In this majestic setting, the celebrations were always swell!

Thanks for the Review! Posted on zillow.com * * * * * Peter introduced my husband and I to a gorgeous property for sale on Marais Street, showed us around, and provided every resource we needed as we considered it. Not only was he so very knowledgable about the area, the particular block, the home's architecture and historic details, etcetera — his charisma, warmth and approachability led to us meeting several of the neighbors during our tour, who were generous and helpful.
Sidenote:
We subscribe to Peter's real estate newsletter full of breathtaking historic homes throughout the region and it's a real treat. ~Alexadra
