Calendar of the Soul

Thirty-fifth Week
Within my being's depths there speaks,
Intent on revelation,
The cosmic Word mysteriously:
Imbue your labor's aims
With my bright spirit light
To sacrifice yourself through me.
Our Middle School students recently took a trip to Camp Solomon Schechter in Tumwater. The students engage in team building exercises and practiced strategies for positive thinking. Fun day!
The final day to contribute to the 3rd Grade service project is Thursday, December 16th. The students are hoping to collect donations of the following items:
  • New/gently used books for children of all ages
  • Small art supplies (boxes of crayons, paints, small notebooks, stickers, etc)
  • Travel size hygiene products (chapstick, deodorant, toothpaste, shampoo, etc.)
  • Child/teen size new socks
  • Child/teen size gloves or mittens
You can send these items to school with your student at drop off/pick up or deliver to the office. On Friday the 17th, the students will package the items (along with handwritten notes) to be donated to Tuwaduq Family Services on the Skokomish Reservation.

From the words of our 8th grade class:
"If you like pastries, I have good news for you! The 8th grade is holding a bake sale! Buy 10, buy a dozen, buy a whole box because every single penny you spend helps us raise enough money to go on our 8th grade trip to Chile. Purchase our goods, support a good cause."
Friday, December 17th at pick up
A final THANK YOU to all who participated in our Fairy Shoppe online auction. Although our numbers were down from last year, we did meet our goal for this event. If you missed the online auction or were outbid you can still donate! No amount is too small. All donors will receive a set of our new school stickers!

**Mark your calendars for our in-person "May Faire Gala/Extravaganza" (for adults!) following the student event at school in early May!

Ripples Educational Support Returns!

Greetings to Faculty and Parents of Olympia Waldorf School,

After a wonderful trip to see family in Germany this Autumn, I have returned and now I am looking forward to opening my outside classroom for educational support and reflex integration for people of all ages. If you, your child, or your student is experiencing challenges with attention, confidence, or joy in the classroom, or with certain subjects, perhaps some one-on-one support could help to transform difficult habits into new and successful patterns of learning with more ease and joy. I offer assessments to help identify strengths and challenges and then in partnership with parents, teachers and student, set up a retraining program of movement, arts, and academics through games which can be done at home and in weekly visits with me for a block of time.

After teaching, puppetry, administrative work and educational support in Waldorf Schools for over 40 years I am happy to stay connected to this wonderful education through this practice. I am also happy to help with learning recorder, etc.

I live just up the street from Olympia Waldorf School. You can contact me to discuss any questions or to set up a free consultation.

Thank you,
