December 2021
Dear <<First Name>>,
Oh what a year! We are so grateful for God's favor on Reaching Higher and our mission this past year. Despite the constant adjustments made in response to COVID, we truly believe we lived out our mission to:
Introduce True Hope to All Kids. Strengthen Families. Transform Communities.
We wanted to take a moment to thank you and share all that God has been doing in and through Reaching Higher in 2021. Make sure to check out or 2021 highlights at the end of the email!
First off, thank you. Thank you for believing in our mission as a faith based, collaborative organization that introduces true hope to all kids. Without your prayers, volunteering, donations and financial support, we would not get to serve our community every day. We pray you will continue to partner with us in the coming year.
Additionally, this past year we experienced wonderful growth as we were able to bring back our After School Sites. A huge thank you to Tammy Swanson and Brianna Beasley who lead our Tulare 1AG site and to Jesselyn Perez and Alyssa Azevedo who lead our Meadowhouse site. Every day our students enter into a loving, safe environment to hear the true hope of Jesus Christ, receive academic support, and grow as a whole person with the support of wonderful staff and volunteers. We look forward to building an official Reaching Higher After School building in the year to come!
In March, under the leadership of our Child Resource Advocate, Claire Hall, we were able to officially launch CarePortal, a technology platform that connects the local church to the real-time, vetted needs of children and families in crisis. A partnership between 16 local churches, local businesses, our county Child Welfare Office and another foster agency has resulted in over 250 children served via 97 met requests! We anticipate serving more kids in partnership with more churches in 2022!
After a long delay, our 7-on-7 travel football team made a return with coaches Brent Beck, Sean Bradley and George Herrera. We work to develop young men who are athletes, as well as good students, friends, and future husbands and fathers. Our team made it to the championship game and is already back this winter for our current season.
There are many more stories and updates we wish we had time to share with you. These stories are often shared on our social media, so please give us a follow to stay up to date on the work God is doing through Reaching Higher in Tulare County.
Thank you for your support,
Ty Davis, Executive Director
