An eastern grey kangaroo and her joey who survived the forest fires in Mallacoota, nominated for People’s Choice for Wildlife Photographer of the Year. Jo-Anne McArthur / We Animals Media

This photo has made top 25 for People’s Choice nominations for Wildlife Photographer of the Year. Winning would be a huge boost for animal climate stories and by voting you can help make it happen.

We sent Jo-Anne to Australia in 2020 to document the wildfires that killed or displaced more than three billion animals. From the ashes of those fires emerged this photo, an emblem of animals and climate change. Your vote can help amplify animal stories.

Investigating Duck Egg Farming in Indonesia

A group of ducklings huddles together in the corner of a small pen at an Indonesian duck farm.
Haig / Act for Farmed Animals / We Animals Media

Working alongside Act for Farmed Animals, we conducted a sweeping investigation of duck egg production in Indonesia, an industry of 60 million birds and growing. Spanning several months, this investigation reveals these shy animals enduring intense suffering, filthy conditions and stifling confinement. Our investigators were regularly overcome with the smell and sadness of these farms.

Using our investigative material, Act for Farmed Animals is now lobbying the Indonesian government to legislate change for these animals. Help push for change.

An Estimated 640,000 Animals Drown in Record Floods

More than half a million animals drowned in western Canada in November following a summer of ravaging wildfires.

We sent photographer Nick Schafer to document how these floods impacted animals, and how climate change is a story of animals as much as it is of us.

Recognition for Ron

Ron, a chimpanzee rescued from invasive research, in his nest of blankets at Save the Chimps.
Jo-Anne McArthur / We Animals Media

This month, the AEFONA Conservation Photography Competition awarded our photo of Ron, a chimpanzee rescued from invasive research, as the winner of the Man & Nature category.

Ron was injected and sedated hundreds of times over two decades. He withstood many surgeries including a spinal dynamics study, where researchers removed a disk in his neck. Mercifully, at 26, Save the Chimps rescued this gentle soul.

Millions of animals are used in research annually. Our visuals can help you advocate on their behalf.
