Thank you! Whether it is through a donation, a membership or a visit to the Coastal Center, your support has directly impacted our ability to educate, restore and advocate for our waterways. We appreciate the passion you have shown for our environment, and your care for the community makes our mission possible.
I am often asked about the fight for clean waterways, and how we can stop the pollution and discharges that come our way. I believe that the answer is with perseverance, scientific knowledge, and many passionate voices. We can all work together to speak up for our environment, to influence decision-making with accurate data, and to provide meaningful alternatives for change. This is my personal belief, and the way that Florida Oceanographic participates in being a voice for action that transforms our world.
We are focusing on getting rid of the toxic algae, stopping the harmful discharges that destroy our estuaries and sending water south to the Everglades which desperately needs it. Sometimes it is hard to break through the noise, the finger-pointing and the political agendas that surround these issues, but it is at these times that we must work together to be more informed, more engaged and to never forget what we are fighting for.
Now more than ever, we ask for your help as we continue this fight. We are at a turning point for our waterways and our community.
