A Message from The Catholic Crusade

The Church dedicates the month of January to the Holy Name of Jesus. It is also a month when we celebrate the Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, the Epiphany of the Lord, and the Baptism of the Lord.

There are three special novenas that are commonly prayed in the month of January:
The
Surrender Novena (January 1-9) is a novena intended for offering up to Jesus all of one's problems, worries, needs, etc... entrusting in Him to take them and handle them in accordance with His will. Though this novena can be prayed anytime of the year, we always like to feature it in January in order to start the new year off on a positive note.

The
Infant of Prague Novena (January 5-13) is a nine-day prayer devotion and petition to the Child Jesus and His Sacred Heart. The novena concludes on the day before the Feast of the Infant Jesus of Prague (January 14).

The
9 Days for Life Novena (January 13-21) is a pro-life devotion in which prayers and penances are offered up for the sake of the unborn and their parents. The novena leads up to the annual Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children (January 22).

December 7th is First Friday. For anyone interested in participating in the First Friday Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we have recommended prayers here, along with additional information regarding this devotion.

Total Consecration to Jesus Through Mary
INFO

Have you consecrated yourself yet to Jesus through Mary?
The month of January offers an opportunity (starting on January 9) to take the first step in consecrating yourself to Jesus through Mary as recommended by St. Louis de Montfort: the 33-Day Preparation prior to consecration.

This 33-day preparation, involving a daily series of readings and prayers prior to making your consecration, is a spiritually nourishing experience necessary to prepare you for consecration to Jesus through Mary.
