Abide in Me

Are you ready for the new year? Are you spiritually prepared? Spending time daily in God’s Word is essential for us. Jesus says in John 15:5, “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” One of the ways that Christians abide in God is spending time in His word. What can we do in 2022 without holding on to God? Absolutely nothing, zero, nada, zilch. Commit to make God’s Word a priority in the new year.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us; and we saw His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:1,14)

God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom He also made the world. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power... (Hebrews 1:1-3a)

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:2)

Therefore, since we also have such a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let's rid ourselves of every obstacle and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let's run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking only at Jesus, the originator and perfecter of the faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. (Hebrews 12:1-3)

Year-End Contributions

Many taxpayers can lower their taxable income by identifying certain expenses as itemized deductions, which in turn lowers their tax liability. Statistically, only about 14% of American taxpayers file an itemized return. If you happen to be in that category, please keep the following in mind for year-end giving. These requirements must be met for your contributions to be tax deductible for 2021:

The church must receive the contribution by December 31, 2021 or the contribution must be mailed and postmarked by December 31, 2021.

To ensure the deductibility of your church contributions, do not file your 2021 income tax return until you have received a written acknowledgment of your contributions from the church. The statements will be mailed or emailed out no later than January 31, 2022.

There are several ways you can give:

Online

In-Person
Gray offering boxes are located in the Sanctuary and foyer.
The church office is typically open Monday-Friday, 9:00-4:00.*
