Healthy, happy and creative 2022!

Greetings from the whole Advanced Training in Health Innovation Knowledge Alliance: wishing you healthy, happy, and creative 2022!  

The EU-funded ATHIKA project is arriving to the end after a 3 years’ journey. Since January 2019, the whole partnership has worked hard on preparing and developing contents, videos, and materials to finally launch the ATHIKA course platform. Read more about our journey...

Would you let a robot be your taxi driver? And your doctor?

Robots are excellent chess players, best drivers, and they are already becoming doctors. 

If a robot provides a better service than a human being, since it reaches a more accurate diagnosis in less time and cost, or performs a more reliable surgery, or monitors with full accuracy our health condition, then many people (if not most people) will prefer a robot as their doctor, – whatever a robot is - just because the robot is more useful and produces better results. Just the same happens with taxi drivers.

Meeting with Kaunas STP MedTech startups

ATHIKA conference participants were invited to meet innovative Kaunas MedTech start-ups and hear more about the technology behind and value for customer, ethical product development challenges and future goals.  

The meeting with MedTech startups has been closed with exploration of Lithuanian Life Sciences Industry Achievement stand, developed by Agency for Science, Innovation and Technology (MITA). Stand interactively presents seven innovations in the field of health technologies and biotechnologies.

Final ATHIKA partnership meeting was hosted by Lithuanian partner Kaunas Science and Technology Park at SANTAKA Valley on 18th of November, 2021. The key focus of this meeting was to share Final ATHIKA conference insights, overview partnership achievements and plan final tasks to be completed.

Final #36 online partnership meeting

ATHIKA final #36 online partnership meeting was hosted by La Salle – Universitat Ramon Llull on 15th Of December 2021. The main focus was review and analysis of the publication “Future Digital Health: An approach to New Digital Workforce Profiles in Healthcare”, reflecting the impact that ATHIKA project results’ can have in the future labour market and describing the future opportunities between health and technology workforce within the universe of digital solutions. 

 

What's next? 

VET in the Health Sector – is there a Lack of Artificial Intelligence Involvement?

Representatives from Lithuania who participated in the Digi4HEALTH International Digital Skills and Knowledge Survey focus group say yes. It is time to strengthen digital skills training in VET institutions and to increase knowledge of digital technologies: artificial intelligence, 3D scanning, augmented reality and block chain technology. A group convened last winter helped to define the guidelines for foreseen to develop training material. Trainings will be provided by international vocational education team, made up of representatives from training institutions and digitalization communities in European countries.
