Roundtable Event: Plans of Safe Care

The next Roundtable event will be January 6th at 1:00 pm central time. All are welcome as staff from three hospitals share how they have implemented plans of safe care for newborns affected by maternal substance use. In addition, a representative from DHHS will present an overview and answer questions about plans of safe care. NE Breastfeeding Progress
|
|
|
The CDC recently published the 2020 Breastfeeding Report card which includes results through 2018. The chart below shows that Nebraska achieved the Healthy People 2020 target for infants to be exclusively breastfed through 6 months in 2015. The new target set by Healthy People 2030 is 42.1%.

The chart below shows that Nebraska also met the Healthy People 2020 target for infants to be breastfed at 1 year of age in 2015. The Healthy People 2030 target has been increased to 54.1%.

Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders Certificate Training

The Maternal Infant Health Program at the Nebraska DHHS is offering a limited number of registration fees at a discounted rate for the Postpartum Support International (PSI) Perinatal Mood Disorders: Components of Care Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders Certificate Training. This two-day online course is designed for psychiatrists, nurses, physicians, social workers, mental health providers, childbirth professionals, social support providers, and anyone interested in building skills for assessment and treatment of perinatal mood disorders.
