The Brainerd Public Library was established in 1899 and was a founding member of the Kitchigami Regional Library system in 1969. The Library's mission is to bring people, information, and ideas together to enrich lives and build community.

AARP Tax-Aide Services Appointments
Starting January 10, 2022, we will be taking reservations for AARP Tax-Aide Services appointments, to be held at the Westgate Mall. This is a free service provided by volunteers, to taxpayers with low and middle income in Crow Wing County. Call the library at 218-829-5574 to make an appointment after January 10th.

Lego Builder's Showcase

Looking for a fun, family activity during Winter Break? We've got a challenge for you! From Dec. 15-Jan. 10, we challenge all young builders to create something, at home, with LEGO. We will be showcasing photos of all the creations on our Facebook page, and here in the library. We can't wait to see what you create!

Winter Reading Program: Snow Time To Read
January 1-February 28, 2022
Readers ages 18+ are invited to join the library's winter reading program, Snow Time to Read! The program is virtual once again, so you can use Beanstack to log your reads from anywhere, and the Beanstack app is available for download to your devices. Visit our site to sign up and get started reading, then log the books you read between January 1st and February 28th to be entered into drawings for fun prizes like mugs, tote bags, and more! Adult Book Club**

The Brainerd Book Club will meet on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at 1 pm on Zoom for our next book discussion: The Girl with the Louding Voice by Abi Daré. The inspiring story of a teenage girl growing up in a rural Nigerian village, who longs to get an education so that she can find her “louding voice” and speak up for herself. Despite the seemingly insurmountable obstacles in her path, Adunni never loses sight of her goal of escaping the life of poverty so that she can build the future she chooses for herself. Copies of this book are available at the front desk.
