Ramification - All the ways the branches spread and ramificate into worlds and contexts beyond our imagination. Impact. To see how the general longing for more sensuous and poetic modes of being in the world receives a place in the world. A manifested home. And a method to unfold it through - The Sisters Performance Method. To inspire. To unify thoughts. Condensed. Impact. To read all the notebooks and be able to analyse the impact of more sensuous and poetic approaches on the participants. On the inhabitants. To inhabit our inner landscapes a new, to inhabit the city - Sensuous City - to inhabit the external eternal landscapes around us. Unification. To create platforms for inhabitation of the sensuous and poetic, for multispecies coexistence beyond boarders. To connect rather than to separate. To inhabit more sensuous and poetic worlds to stimulate ecologic connectedness in order to carve a path towards a more sustainable future.

Sisters Hope Home

In October we opened our long-awaited new base Sisters Hope Home. It is our dear home, a 5-year-durational artwork, and a platform for artistic research. Over the coming years we will manifest this place dedicated to poetic and sensuous modes of being and being together. The project originated from a deep longing for a venue where we could unfold our performative experiments and works in deeper and more refined versions.

See a beautiful photo series of our opening performance Inhabitation at I DO ART and read the article The Aesthetic Supports a Sustainable World unfolding the ideas and visions at Kunsten.nu.

PhD: Sensuous Society

Our Artistic Director, Gry Worre Hallberg, finished her PhD Dissertation Sensuous Society - Carving the path towards a sustainable future through aesthetic inhabitation stimulating ecologic connectedness in 2021 and in October we released a printed hardback edition of it.

In Hallberg's PhD she explores how her artistic practices stimulate an ecological awareness of connectivity in the participants, which according to the ecological theory presented in the dissertation is pivotal to sustainable transition. This stimulation is induced through aesthetic evocation, by which the aesthetic, and thus sensuous, do support the transition towards a more sustainable future. She furthermore recommends what she has termed inhabitation in the artwork – Inhabitation moves beyond not only spectatorship, but also participation and allows for more permanent access to the sensuous and poetic and she suggests that it could be a whole new artistic paradigm.

Sensuous City

This summer we manifested our expansive format Sensuous City, where we in a series of 24-hour walks explored the poetic layers and cracks of Copenhagen. We had a wonderful time and here is a couple of writings on the manifestation:

“A wonderfully soothing tranquility descends over mind and body. Imagine, that a completely inconceivable side of City Hall's inner life, could be evoked full of care and beauty!"
Politiken

“Have you ever listened to Copenhagen? Felt the city? Maybe you will answer yes to these questions, but I almost dare to guarantee that you have never had an experience like Sensuous City."

Institute For Coexistence

Recently in December we opened the exhibition Institute for Coexistence at the WAMx Turku City Art Museum in Finland.

The exhibition has been created in collaboration with curator Mikkel Elming with the intention to explore the concept of coexistence within the visual and auditive universe of Sisters Hope and the theoretical framework of the Sensuous Society Manifesto. The exhibition can be perceived as a response to the current ecological, social and biological crises. Through an open call four artists - Rob Hesp, Georg JagunovTiio Suorsa & Kim Laybourn - has been selected and invited to explore and unfold their artistic research within the universe of the institute in dialogue with the existing framework created by Sisters Hope.

We will inhabit the space for a whole year until December 4, 2022.

Support from the Danish Arts Foundation

This year we received continued support from the Danish Arts Foundation until 2025. One of the aims with the support is centered about anchoring and deepen our roots locally at Sisters Hope Home while exploring new ways of inhabiting the art. Another central ambition is our on-going process of internationalization which among other projects includes a strategic partnership Sensuous Society - Beyond Economic Rationality with the Danish Cultural Institute and which will bring Sisters Hope around the globe to countries such as Russia, China, Brazil, Ukraine, India and Turkey in the coming years.

Thank you to all of you who in different ways are taking part in and supporting the journey, we look very much forward to the many future endeavors.
